Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee Cave and Burren Rail Tour

Experience the drama of Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coast on this exciting away-day by rail and road. Board a train at Heuston Station and head westward across the peaty midlands. At Galway you transfer to a touring coach to explore the scenic southern coastline of Galway Bay. See the pretty fishing villages and the stern shape of Dunguaire, Ireland’s most photographed castle. With the broad expanse of the great Atlantic on the right hand side and the stark limestone rock of The Burren on the left, the landscape is truly spectacular. In early summer, The Burren is a natural rock garden bright with wild flowers. Stop to marvel at the dizzying Cliffs of Moher, among the highest sea cliffs in Western Europe. And dive underground to explore part of Ireland’s largest cave system with its underground waterfall, stalactites and stalagmites. After your day’s touring, you will be returned to Galway to catch the direct train back to Dublin, with snack and bar facilities on board.
